British imperialists imported 85,000 convict slaves and carried-out genocide in lutruwita. Today every adult Tasmanian is represented by 21 parliamentarians. The state is a bankrupt, colonialist basket case. We can publish your original content under the Creative Commons Attribution license. insidetasmania at gmail dot com

Hodgman By A Landslide
The Liberal Party are the new government in Tasmania with both Labor and the Greens being annihilated in the polls. This actually doesn't mean much because many of Hodgman's policies are the same as the last Tasmanian Premier Lara Giddings, especially if it involved trashing the environment for a quick buck. In fact they often voted together. The Greens fatal mistake was to split their own party by accepting cabinet roles that locked the rest of the party out of decision making and any real participation in government due to cabinet confidentiality. It seems the only Greens left in parliament will be McKim, O'Connor and Booth. Hodgman's massive challenge will be to unite Tasmania and work towards economic independence from Canberra and preserve what's left of the islands unique ecosystem. If he fails on these issues he will be dumped by his own party first and the electorate second. At least Bob Gordon didn't get elected!
