There is something seriously wrong in Tasmania. The Tasmanian Greens are defending the $400 million Tasmanian Forest Agreement that could save around 500,000 hectares. But thats $800 per hectare the Australian taxpayer is being forced to pay to buy their own land from an industry that doesn't own it. The Liberals, who polling suggest will form the next Tasmanian government have said they will tear-up the agreement. $800 per hectare to buy land for less than a year paid by people who already own it? No wonder Tasmania is an economic basket case?
