Lets not beat around the bush? Ta Ann and it's owner Hamed Sepawi are global environmental criminals. They have just been thrown out of Liberia for illegal logging and corruption. They have permanently destroyed the homes of indigenous Sarawak tribes people and yet have a look at who is doing their dirty work in Japan? Vica Bayley of the Wilderness Society and Don Henry of the Australian Conservation Foundation should not be working for Hamed Sepawi and the Taib Cartel.
Somehow Bayley and Henry have moved sideways into a 'two wrongs makes a right' paradigm. They think that economically supporting corruption, cronyism, illegal logging and in the case of the Taib Cartel, murder, is somehow justified because it could save trees. WRONG. The end does not justify the means. Bayley & Henry work for tax-exempt charities remember? Using charities as commercial facilitators is fraudulent. Who is paying for Bayley and Henry's trip to Japan? Are tax-deductible donations propping-up a Taib logging company? Is the Australian taxpayer subsidising the most corrupt regime on the planet? Bayley and Henry have overstepped their role as charities and have sold their souls to the most corrupt regime in the world.
