Lara Giddings - Helmet Model

Our investigative reporters have been looking at the use of helmets by Tasmanian Premier Lara Giddings. Lara is a lawyer and helmets protect her most valuable asset - her brain, in often dangerous industrial situations. Lara looks good in a helmet but why does she have to visit so many holes in the ground and look at earth-moving equipment?

The reason is because the more big projects there are, the more taxes are available to support Lara, her lifestyle and retirement fund. Small businesses and family farms don't generate enough tax to support politicians in the manner are accustomed to. A politicians lifestyle and income requirements mean multinational corporations and thousands of workers are necessary for politicians to survive on.

If it means Lara has to subsidise foreigners with your money to dig holes in the ground, cut down trees and pollute the environment then so be it. Next time you see Lara in a helmet you will know why head protection is so important for Lara's safety and long-term security.
