Gunns Tax Debt Paid By Enviromentalists?

Lindsay Heskett, Don Henry, Vica Bayley,  Phill Pullinger
At right we have the ENGO negotiators who helped facilitate a taxpayer-funded payout to Gunns in August 2011. Without these environmentalists, Gunns would not have been gifted $59 million of public money in cash and debts Gunns owed to Forestry Tasmania. Gunns decided to terminate logging 'native' forest in Tasmania themselves so how did the Greens and these environmentalists conclude Gunns had to be compensated with public money? Not only that, but the Tasmanian Greens are still covering-up the legal advice that the Labor-Green Coalition used to justify transferring our money to a private company. A company that now admits was avoiding paying it's taxes anyway. We realise there are big problems with the Tax Act, but the fact is people are behind bars for avoiding tax. How much tax do these ENGO's pay? None. Using our taxes to pay Gunns taxes is a crime against the poorest state in Australia.
