Anti-Gunns Protestors Join Police, Teachers, Nurses At Labor Conference

It's the first time I have seen arrests at a demonstration in which the police were also protesting. Along with hospital and health workers, teachers, anti-pulp mill groups and forest activists, we gathered outside the casino in Launceston while Lara Giddings and her team of inept, corrupt ministers covered their asses after almost bankrupting the Tasmanian economy. Decades of corruption and collusion with the wood chip industry has left Tasmania unable to deal with the harsh reality of continuing financial melt-downs. Lara Giddings and Julia Gillard have not yet finished subsidising one parasitic industry at the expense of public sector workers in hospitals, schools and police stations.
